KEOWEE for KIDS! was launched in 2004. Entertaining mini-concerts introduce young listeners to chamber music and instruments through story and sound.

During the 2006 season, Keowee musicians presented 5 free children's concerts to over 300 audience members. These events were sponsored by the SC Arts Commission, the Asheville-Buncombe Library System and the NC Center for Creative Retirement. One of these concerts was filmed by Asheville's URTV and is now on DVD.

In November 2006, Keowee extended its outreach through a 3-day residency at Evergreen Community Charter School in Asheville. Six Keowee musicians presented workshops on South American music, culminating in 3 performances with the students (43 sixth-graders) playing alongside the artists. This project was sponsored by the Asheville Chamber Music Series.

Continuing its commitment to community outreach, Keowee will offer a residency at Bell Elementary School in Asheville, coordinated by the Lake Eden Arts Festival in Schools & Streets (LEAF SS), May 2007.
